NNPCL, other Nigerian filling stations slash fuel price

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and other independent marketers have once again reduced the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at retail outlets across Abuja.

A check by Daily Post revealed that NNPCL’s filling stations in the nation’s capital have reduced petrol prices to ₦915 per litre, down from ₦920, marking a ₦5 reduction.

Independent marketers, including BOVAS and MRS, are also adjusting their rates, with some now selling at ₦910 per litre, a notable drop from earlier prices of up to ₦945.

Other filling stations such as AYM Shafa, NIPCO, Optima, Mobil, Ranoil, and Empire now dispense petrol at prices ranging between ₦920 and ₦937 per litre, depending on the location and depot supply dynamics.

The retail reductions mirror falling ex-depot prices from major depots and refineries. As of Wednesday, petrol was sold at the following prices:

₦824.50 per litre at Dangote Refinery

₦823 at Eterna and Aiteo depots

₦822 at BOVAS

This latest adjustment by NNPCL follows two successive price cuts over the past fortnight, bringing the price to ₦945 per litre, down ₦30 from ₦ 975 per litre.

Recall that the President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, on Friday promised Nigerians that the era of nationwide fuel queues has ended, pledging an uninterrupted petrol supply during the festive season.
