Nnamdi Kanu: ‘We’re highly disappointed’ – South-East Forum

The Secretary General of Forum for South-East Academic Doctors, Dr Uzo Ngoladi, has faulted the judgment that convicted pro-Biafra leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

Ngoladi expressed spoke on Sunday in an interview on Arise Television monitored by Reporters.

He said the life sentence passed on the IPOB leader was received with shock, disbelief and disappointment.

“All the people who have been hopeful that this judgment will be a relief whereby Nnamdi Kanu will be released, but the reverse became the case.

“The sentiment in the Southeast regarding the Federal High Court’s judgement on Nnamdi Kanu is one of disappointment and disillusionment.

“Many in the Igbo community do not view Kanu as a terrorist, but rather as an agitator and a catalyst for change in response to the marginalisation of Igbos in Nigeria.

“We continue to hope that this issue will be resolved through political means rather than through punitive measures or selective justice,” he said.

News reported that Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday sentenced Nnamdi Kanu to life imprisonment after he was convicted on all seven counts of terrorism filed against him.
