Nigerian Navy chief of operations Musa Katagum is dead

‎Rear Admiral Musa Katagum, chief of operations of the Nigerian Navy, is dead.

‎Katagum, a former chief of naval intelligence, died after a protracted illness according to Abiodun Folorunsho, director of naval information.

‎Folorunsho described Katagum as a dedicated senior officer whose career was marked by professionalism and commitment to duty.

‎“Throughout his distinguished service in the Nigerian Navy, Rear Admiral Katagum demonstrated exemplary leadership, strategic insight and unwavering loyalty to the ideals and mission of the Nigerian Navy. His legacy will remain a source of inspiration to all personnel across the services.

‎“The Nigerian Navy extends its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and associates during this difficult time. Rear Admiral Katagum passed away following a protracted illness and has since been buried according to Islamic rites. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.

‎Katagum was widely regarded as a respected senior officer who contributed significantly to the navy’s recent operational successes.
