NG-CARES Result Area 2 set to boost agriculture in Kogi

Kogi State NG-CARES Result Area 2 (FADAMA), has concluded plans to provide improved agricultural inputs for crop and livestock farmers particularly for cassava, maize, rice, poultry and fishery production.

This was made known by the State Project Coordinator (SPC), Mr. David Onojah, while speaking to Journalists in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, recently.

The State Project Coordinator noted that all these agricultural inputs will be provided between now and 30th June, 2024 under the World Bank supported NG-CARES programme across the 21 Local Government Areas of the State.

According to him, in addition to the inputs, the Delivery Platform (FADAMA) will be facilitating the provision of Water and Sanitation facilities in at least 140 markets to support the infrastructural development effort of Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo’s administration.

While stating that the instrument of funding which is the Community Action Recovery Plans (CARP) are being reviewed, Onojah noted that the implementation will form part of the present administration’s achievement for the first 100 days in office.

He commended the State Government for the support enjoyed so far which has brought about verifiable successes in the agricultural sector and promised to ensure that Kogi becomes an agricultural investment hub.
