The Attah of Igala, Alaji Mathew Oguche Akpa has commissioned Micro Projects as well as flagged off the water reticulation, Clinic and free Medical outreach in Owoli-apah Community of Idah LGA of Kogi State.
The Traditional Ruler, represented, by Onu of Idaho, HRH Yahaya Achimogu, praised the grassroots development initiative of the present administration through the Kogi Community and Social Development Agency.
The Traditional Ruler stressed the importance of provision of water and health care facilities to the people, pointing out that it behooves on the people to join hands with Gov Usman Ahmed Ododo in protecting the infrastructure.
He lauded the efforts of the KGCSDA in bringing development to the doorsteps of the people, appreciated the present administration for making the welfare of the people, through prompt and increased payment of salaries to Local Government workers a priority.
The Traditional Ruler called on the administration to also reach out to other communities in need of infrastructure, pointing out that vast majority of the people resides in the grassroots area of government.
In his remarks, the General Manager, KGCSDA, Mall. Momoh Dauda, said the Water, Clinic project for the Community is put at a total cost of N14,466,865.00.
He called on the people to ensure the protection of the facilities, as a way of encouraging Government to do more for the people.
He assured that the present administration is through the Agency, resolved in providing the needed infrastructure for the people, appreciated Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo for the release of funds to execute the projects
In a goodwill message, the LGA transition chairman, Hon Amade Eguda Ochijenu, commended the state government for funding the project in his LGA, promised the support of the council to community development association wishing to embark on Community Development projects the maximum support.
In a welcome address delivered by Chief (Hon.) Abdulazeez Idoko, Chairman, Owoli-apah Community Development Association, Idah, said the project Commissioning
marks another milestone in the life of Owoll-Apah Community of Idah Local Government Area.
He said as a semi-urban community with an estimated population of 10,000 people, comprising Ajopaluwa Oguche, Okotonowa, Owoli-Apah, Okete-Eju, Okete-Ogbe, Ojajita, Okete-Ocheje, Okete-Ugbola, Oyifu, Ocheche Ofotacho, Angwa-Jaama, and Okete-Elakwu quarters, including the Ata Igala’s Palace, said the water reticulation, clinic and free medical outreach will go a long way in alleviating the plight of the people.
He expressed the appreciation of the Community to HRM (Dr.) Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa CFR, the Ata Igala and President Kogi State Council of Chiefs for his support especially his financial support, and for donating the piece of land for the clinic project.
He also thanked the Idah Local Government Council for their commitment and support since the commencement of the project put at a total cost of N14,466,865.00.
Highlights of the commissioning was an earlier visit by the General Manager KCSDA to the Attah of Igala land with his Management and Medical team before the commissioning of projects, where the Ata Igala, was represented.
