Military Officers Storm Ikeja Electricity HQ Over Power Disconnection

Military personnel stormed the headquarters of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) in protest against a power disconnection.

Eyewitnesses reported that the officers, dressed in full military uniforms, arrived at the office opposite MITV in Ikeja, Lagos, around 7:40 a.m. on Thursday.

Some staff members allegedly faced physical assault by the military men.

According to reports, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) base in Lagos had its electricity supply cut off by IKEDC due to unpaid bills. The action left the base without power.

Sources revealed that an agreement was in place for the Air Force to pay IKEDC N60 million monthly in exchange for 10 to 12 hours of electricity supply per day. However, despite making payments, the base allegedly continued to suffer frequent blackouts.

Reports indicate that a female military officer led the operation, and the personnel refused to leave despite police intervention.
