Some stakeholders of the ruling APC, on Saturday, presented the party’s preferred candidate for the forthcoming Local Government election in Kogi State, for Lokoja Local Government Area, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu to the immediate past Minister of State for FCT, Dr Ramatu Tijani Aliyu.
Presenting Comrade Abdullahi, the Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf, who was accompanied by the member of the National Assembly representing Lokoja/Kogi (Kotonkarfe) Federal Constituency, Hon Danladi Suleiman Aguye, the member representing Lokoja I State Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon Bin-Ebaiya Shehu Tijjani and the APC Chairman for Lokoja Local Government Area, Hon Bature Maikudi described the aspirant as a tested and trusted politician who has demonstrated capacity even before his appointment as the Chairman of the council’s caretaker committee.
In a statement by Yabagi Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, the Speaker expressed his firm belief that when elected, Comrade Abdullahi would consolidate on the gains he has brought to bear on the council since his assumption of office for the betterment of the council.
The minister expressed optimism about the possible landslide victory of the ruling party, and prayed for the success of the forthcoming council polls in Kogi State.
