Kogi Revenue services slam 37, 500, 000 fee on PDP, for party’s campaign posters across Kogi state

.

The Kogi State Internal Revenue Service, (KGIRS), has slammed a fee of N37,500,000.00, on the
Peoples Democratic Paity, (PDP), Kogi State chapter, for PDP State Secretariat, for signage fee for your party’s campaign posters and flyers across kogi state.

In a demand notice dated 24th October, 2022, signed by the Acting Executive chairman of the Revenue Service, Sule Salihu Enehe, and addressed to the PDP chairman, said failure to pay the said fee with 14 days, will lead to the removal of the party’s posters and signages across Kogi State, and possible legal action.

The letter reads “Pursuant to the provisions of the Kogi State Signage and Advertisement Law (KOSSAL), 2022, and other extant laws, we present in the table below the obligations of your Party to Kogi State Government on Signage fee in respect of campaign posters and flyers of your candidates contesting various elective offices in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

“Please note that failure to make payment within the stipulated pertod, will lead to the removal of your posters and signages across Kogi State, and possible legal action.

“Consequently, wehereby demand for the payment of N37,500,000.00 within fourteen (14) days of the receipt of this letter, into any of the State’s IGR accounts as stated in the letter.

“As we look forward to a timely response and settlement of these obligations,

“kindly accept the assurance of our highest regard.
