Leadership is often seen through the lens of decision-making, strategy, and vision. However, the true essence of great leadership lies in the ability to empower others—nurturing their potential, guiding them through challenges, and inspiring them to reach new heights. Today, I celebrate and appreciate a remarkable leader Chief Hon. Dr Philip Agbese who embodies this ideal and has profoundly impacted my life and the lives of so many in Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State by empowering them to become the best versions of themselves.
CHAMPION OF EMPOWERMENT
The honourable member representing the good people of Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency Chief Hon. Philip Agbese has consistently placed people at the heart of their mission. He has made me believed that leadership isn’t about having all the answers, but about asking the right questions, creating a space for ideas to flourish, and encouraging individuals to think critically and independently. Agbese has built a culture of trust, where team members feel safe to express their ideas, take risks, and embrace innovation.
BUILDING CONFIDENCE AND FOSTERING GROWTH
Empowerment isn’t just about giving people opportunities—it’s about equipping them with the skills and confidence to seize those opportunities. Philip Agbese has invested time and effort into mentoring and developing others, helping individuals grow both personally and professionally. Whether through formal training or informal coaching, he has a gift for seeing the potential in people, often before they even see it in themselves.
Countless individuals in Ogbadibo, Enone and Idoma land at large have shared how CHIEF HON. PHILIP AGBESE’S guidance helped them discover strengths they never knew they had. They’ve been empowered to step out of their comfort zones, embrace new challenges, and achieve goals they once thought were out of reach. Such growth is the hallmark of a leader who truly invests in their people.
It is crucial that we all recognize and promote the incredible efforts of the Enone Servant. According to recent records, he has empowered 80 rural women in Ogbadibo, specifically in Itabono 1, Itabono 2, and Ehaje Ward 2, all within the Owukpa District. These areas have also received solar lighting installations. Similarly, Orokam 2 and 3 in the Orokam District are benefiting from solar installations as well.
Additionally, we cannot overlook the back-to-school bursary initiative, with 400 beneficiaries carefully selected from each council ward in Ogbadibo Local Government Area. This has all been achieved in less than two years since Hon. Philip Agbese “the Enone Servant” was sworn in as a first-term Representative.
It is important to note that Ogbadibo Local Government voted for a Governor, an Assembly member, a Senator, and even a Local Government Chairman. Yet, the Governor, whose primary responsibility is to provide essential infrastructure, has not accomplished even 1% of what the Enone Servant has achieved.
We should all applaud the Enone Servant’s tireless energy in delivering these significant results within a single local government area. Ogbadibo has 13 wards, and so far, tangible projects have been implemented in 6 of them. Empowerment initiatives and ICT training have also reached all 13 wards.
Furthermore, additional legislative aides have been employed from every council ward. Let’s remain patient, as every district, council ward, clan, and village will eventually benefit from these efforts.
A VISIONARY WITH HEART
What makes Philip Agbese an extraordinary isn’t just his strategic acumen or professional success—it’s his empathy, humility, and genuine care for the well-being of those they lead.
A LASTING LEGACY
The impact of Philip Agbese’s empowering style doesn’t just stop at the individuals they’ve directly influenced—it extends far beyond. Those who have been empowered by this leader are now in turn inspiring and mentoring others. This ripple effect is the hallmark of a true developmental leader.
Hon. Philip Agbese, is also to dedicate a new healthcare project in Effekwo in honour of the late His Royal Majesty, Elias Ikoyi Obekpa. This healthcare facility, an outstation of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Makurdi, represents a significant investment in the region’s healthcare infrastructure. The decision to name the project after the revered monarch reflects the deep respect and admiration for his legacy and contributions to the community. This project is expected to enhance access to quality healthcare and promote regional development.
In conclusion, I offer my deepest appreciation to this incredible leader, (Enone Servant) Chief Hon. Philip Agbese whose dedication to empowering others has made a lasting difference. Your leadership has not only transformed careers but has touched lives, fostering a sense of purpose, confidence, and resilience in all those you’ve guided. Thank you for being a shining example of what it means to lead with integrity, vision, and heart.
Your influence will be felt for years to come, as the seeds of empowerment you’ve planted continue to grow and inspire greatness in others.
Facts speak for themselves. A big appreciation to the Enone Servant for his dedication and accomplishments.
