Manchester United legend, Gary Neville, has taken to Twitter to cast doubt over Chelsea’s £112 million move for Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez on Tuesday.
Neville said the fee is ‘one hell of a price’ for the Argentina World Cup winner.
Fernandez claimed Young Player of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after helping Argentina to win the tournament in December.
Reports had earlier emerged that Chelsea has since made a £112 million offer for the 21-year-old in a bid to sign him from Benfica.
Upon hearing of Chelsea’s proposal, Neville tweeted: “Are Chelsea paying €127m for Enzo Fernandez? That’s one hell of a price. A very good player but bloody hell!”
