President Bola Tinubu has been urged to ensure he reviews his policies.
This call was made to the president by the leadership of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) on Tuesday, October 29.
The party’s national chairman, Falalu Bello accused the president of sticking to a flaws narrative devoid of practical alternatives that has plunged the people into poverty.
Stating that there is a discount between the present administration led by President Tinubu and the realities of citizens, Bello called for a rethink of Nigeria’s policies.
He said, “The population has been urged to endure these difficult times with the promise of relief on the horizon.
“However, we see no tangible evidence of this assurance in the actions of President Tinubu, his cabinet, or the broader government apparatus,” he said.
Bello added that since assuming office, the present leaders have continued to live ostentatious lifestyles, depleting the nation’s economy.
“The substantial revenue garnered from the removal of subsidies and currency devaluation have not translated into the promised provision of social amenities,” Bello said.
He added that the last 18 months have worsened the misery index of the people with the World Bank cheering the present administration on.
“It is disheartening to hear representatives from the World Bank commend these harmful policies, insisting that they should be sustained for at least fifteen years,” he noted.
