Gov Mutfwang dismisses claims of loudspeaker ban in mosques

The Plateau State government has debunked rumors circulating that it plans to ban the use of loudspeakers in mosques across the state.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang denied the allegation during a press briefing, clarifying government’s position on the rumors. He explained that those spreading the rumors were attempting to create unrest and sow division between the Muslim community and the state government.

Mutfwang further stated, “The national law gives every resident of Plateau the right to practice their religion freely, and our government is committed to upholding this law.”

The governor urged the public to disregard the rumors claiming that the state government would ban the use of loudspeakers in mosques.

The state government also announced that it has set up a committee to track down those spreading the rumors and will hand them over to security agencies for prosecution
