Gov. Ahmed Ododo Presents Vehicles To Security Agencies In Kogi

As part of efforts to ensure adequate security across the state, the kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo on Wednesday, presented second batch of Toyota Hilux vehicles to various security agencies in the state.

Presenting the vehicles to the heads of security agencies at the Lugard House in Lokoja , Governor Ododo said the gesture was the second batch of the provision of operational vehicles to boost security by the administration.

Emphasizing the vital role that the security agencies play in safeguarding the lives and property of the people of the state, the governor expressed his commitment to prioritizing the security and safety of residents of the state.

He said, “As an integral part of government functionaries, it is no gainsaying that security agencies are pivotal to the overall security architecture of any society. This daunting task often requires patrolling from one location to another.

“To ease this important yet herculean function, we are providing these high-grade Toyota Hilux vehicles to enhance performance in the discharge of their security mandate.”

The governor promised to continue with the legacy of his predecessor, the former Governor of kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello who was instrumental in combating criminals in the state..

According to him, “ I was elected to safeguard the people of kogi state, and I will remain steadfast and committed to putting the security and safety of our people first. Since I assumed office, I have consistently emphasized the need for all security stakeholders and state actors to work as one to secure lives and property and I am very happy that they are all working as one big family,” he added.

He assured that his administration would continue to support security agencies, promising that those who did not benefit from the second batch would receive their vehicles in due course.

He also promised to continue to give logistic support and urged the security agencies to make good use of the vehicles to maintain law and order in the state.

“To the good people of the confluence state, we assure you that we will not relent in creating a secure and prosperous environment for all,” the governor stressed.

Earlier in his welcome address, Special Adviser on Security to the state Governor, Mr Jerry Omodara said today marks another milestone in the history of kogi state as the goveenor presents another Toyota Hilux vehicles to security agencies.

He recalled that the first batch of vehicles were presented to hunters and Vigilantees, noting that this new Toyota Hilux vehicles are procured to be presented to other security agencies such as the military, Police, Customs, DSSS, Immigration, NDLEA and other para-military..

He emphasized the current administration’s commitment to enhancing the efficiency of security agencies within kogi State.

The commissioner of Police, Mr. Bethrand Onuoha appreciated the Governor on behalf of other security agencies, he thanked him for all he has done to ensure that the state remain peaceful.
