Former Barcelona and Leicester City legend Gary Lineker has said that Arsenal will be winning trophies in no distant future, noting that Mikel Arteta has already done marvellous work at the club.
Arteta guided the Gunners to FA Cup glory in 2020 and has gone on to transform the north London side into genuine Premier League title challengers.
Arsenal are currently one point behind leaders Manchester City in the table and are still positioned to lift the 2022–23 trophy.
He has also returned them to the Champions League, and Lineker feels more silverware is on the way for the Gunners.
Following Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Newcastle, Lineker said: “Arsenal will probably come up a little short [this season].
“But they’ve made serious progress in the last couple of years.
“Arteta has done a brilliant job and his team will be winning trophies in the not-too-distant future.”
