Former France defender William Gallas has claimed Thiago Silva knows his days at Stamford Bridge are numbered.
Silva joined Chelsea three years ago from Paris Saint-Germain.
The experienced centre-half has proven to be an inspirational figure despite the chaotic environment at Stamford Bridge.
The 38-year-old signed a new deal in February, which expires at the end of the current campaign.
Gallas told Genting Casino: “Thiago Silva knows that it is going to be a very difficult season for him. He knows that this is his last season, and he doesn’t have the right support around him. A player like Thiago Silva, who is 38 years old, normally would be looking to the younger players to lift him, to help him with their quality. Chelsea doesn’t have that quality at the moment.”
