Most of the petrol stations in Zamfara State have stopped selling petroleum products to motorists and road users, while the few ones operating are filled with long queues. The situation has left commuters and businesspeople stranded.
The nonavailability of petroleum products, described as “artificial scarcity” by aggrieved citizens, has generated tensions across the state as motorists accused private stations of hoarding to maximise profit.
Most motorists who spoke with news correspondent accused independent oil marketers of trying to sabotage President Tinubu’s efforts to right the wrongs.
They lamented that filling stations stopped selling fuel after the president’s announcement of the removal of the fuel subsidy regime.
