Barack Obama on Billboard R&B chart

Former US president, Barack Obama has made his debut on musical charts at number 22 on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart this week.

Obama lands on the ranking that lasts till January 5 with a song called “One Last Time (44 Remix).

According to Billboard, Obama is listed as a featured artist on the “Hamilton” song, which also features Christopher Jackson and gospel musician BeBe Winans.

The former US president delivered George Washington’s farewell address on the track which is a part of a series of “Hamildrops” aimed to raise money for multiple nonprofits.

The song starts with 307,000 on-demand US streams and 9,000 downloads sold in the week ending December 27, according to Nielsen Music.

Creator of the Broadway hit musical, Lin-Manuel Miranda released the track, which is a gospel-inspired remix of a song from the show, on December 20

An instant pop-culture behemoth, Hamilton nabbed a record 16 Tony nominations and 11 wins in 2016.

The musical is a take on the life of American founding father Alexander Hamilton.

NAN reports that the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart ranks the most popular R&B and hip hop songs in the US, and is published weekly by Billboard, an American entertainment media brand.

The chart had 100 positions but was shortened to 50 positions in October 2012, with rankings based on sales, radio play, and online streaming in the United States.

The chart is used to track the success of popular music songs in urban, or primarily African- American venues.

2019 presidency: Regina Daniels gets appointment from Atiku

Regina Daniels

Nollywood teen actress, Regina Daniels has been appointed as Atiku Abubakar’s Youth Campaign Coordinator.

The actress disclosed this in a post on Instagram where she pledged her support to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and the ”Atikulated’ campaign.

The post reads; ”I am Regina Daniels. Proud to be 100% Atikulated with Atiku Abubakar who is in the race to become Nigeria’s next President.

”I accept my appointment as Youth Campaign Coordinator For Nollywood with humility and youthful zeal. Atiku is a youth-friendly leader who has assured that every 4 out of 10 of his cabinet will be a youth.”

”The drift is brazen. The nation is at crossroads. The land bleeds from hunger and inertia. It’s time to steer the ship away from caput. From Bama to Bori, Aba to Abuja, Kaura Namode to Kaduna, the sky is gloomy. ”

”It is time for Nigerian Youths to join me and vote Atiku/Obi 2019 to protect our future.”

BBNaija: Bambam reveals ‘secret’ of getting into Big Brother House

Bambam

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Oluwabamike Olawunmi also known as Bambam has given prospective applicants some tips on how to make through the audition stage.

Recall the Chief Executive Officer of Multichoice Nigeria, John Ugbe, had announced details of the fourth edition of the popular reality TV show billed for this year as well as audition dates and venue.

Against that background, Bambam during an interview with Plus TV Africa yesterday, disclosed that applicants do not need to bribe anyone in cash, sex or kind to make it through the multiple audition stages.

She said: “I didn’t know anybody, I didn’t have to sleep with anybody to get into the house.

“You just need to go there and be your original self. The psychologists that will audition you are only looking for something unique in you, so be you. Don’t try and impress by being somebody else or being whom you are not.

“Go prepared, have something you are working on, answer the questions being asked correctly, and just have faith,” she concluded.
