A complaint has been filed with the International Crimes Tribunal, making Sheikh Hasina the main accused in the killing of 848 BNP leaders and activists across the country during the July Revolution in Bangladesh. BNP’s Central Coordinator for Murder and Disappearance Md. Salahuddin Khan PPM confirmed this.
BNP submitted the list of martyrs to the tribunal on Thursday morning. The list was submitted through a letter signed by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
84 cases have been filed so far in these killings. It has also been mentioned that more than 5,000 leaders and activists and supporters were injured in this movement.
BNP’s central coordinator for murder and disappearances, Salauddin Khan, said that Sheikh Hasina, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Law Minister Anisul Haque, Information Minister Arafat and other senior police officials have been accused in the case. The entire list, audio and video evidence and copies of all the statements of 84 cases have been submitted to the International Crimes Tribunal.
At that time, another coordinator, Advocate Nurul Islam Zahid, said that 524 of the deceased were directly involved with Chhatra Dal, BNP and its affiliated organizations. They alleged that even after shooting so many fresh lives, most of the accused have not yet been arrested.
