President Bola Tinubu is to address a joint session of the 10th National Assembly on Wednesday in Abuja.
On Wednesday, the National Assembly will convene a joint session to mark the 25th anniversary of uninterrupted democracy and legislative proceedings in Nigeria.
Additionally, the President will celebrate his first year in office on the same day.
The President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, announced in a statement on Tuesday that President Tinubu will not deliver a nationwide address on Wednesday to mark his first anniversary as the leader of Nigeria.
“President Tinubu’s speech will dwell on the achievements of his administration and Nigeria’s democracy since the military ceded power in 1999.
“Former Senate President, Senator David Mark, former speaker of the House of Representatives and now President Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, are all lined up to address the parliament.”
As per the statement, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, the former military ruler who facilitated the transition to civilian rule in 1999, is also scheduled to address the audience.
Following the speeches, President Tinubu will inaugurate the National Assembly Library and Resource Centre, which will henceforth be named the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Building.
