FG restates commitment to providing adequate security in the country

Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has restated Federal Government’s commitment to providing adequate security in the country.

Bagudu stated this when Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Olotu of the National Defence College, NDC, paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Abuja.

He noted that among the mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was the need to invest more in area of security.

He listed some of the Ministry’s mandate, stating that it was very important in the mission of the College as it helps to develop long and short term plan for the country.

The Minister assured them that their challenges were noted and brought them to speed on the Ministry’s mandate.

More so, he mentioned that the Ministry’s mandate was to develop long and short term economy plans for the country; adding that, “the agenda 2050 is a document of our aspiration which contains the development plans.”

The Budget Minister further advised citizens to acquaint themselves of the different phases of executing these plans and not focus on the annual budget alone.

Bagudu appreciated the College for the roles it plays in the Nation and their effort in making sure the Country was secured also noting that many institutions can do better with enough funding.

Earlier, Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Olotu stated that the reasons for the courtesy visit was to pay homage to the Minister, solicit for support of the Ministry to complete the project of its permanent site and to request for assistance in the quest for an upward review of the College’s release.

He explained that the National Defence College was established in 1992 with the mandate of prepararing Senior Ministry Servant for strategic level.

He said that the college runs Higher Strategic Studies for 11months, Eleven month, adding that, “a total number of 2900 participants have graduated from the college. The function of the college is to train Officers from all part of Africa and across the world. There are participant from Egypt, India, Germany Europe e.t.c.”
