Former Manchester United vice-captain, Patrice Evra has identified Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez as the two Red Devils players that have impressed him the most this season.
Casemiro and Martinez have guided Man United to 5th place on the English Premier League table, with just under half of the season gone.
The pair joined Man United last summer from Real Madrid and Ajax, respectively.
Speaking to Betfair, Evra noted both South Americans have been vital for Erik ten Hag’s side because of their passion and hunger.
The Frenchman said, “Casemiro has had a massive impact, he’s one of the best midfield players in the world right now. You can see that is the DNA that the United fans want to see. He wants discipline and I love that, that is how you’re going to go far.”
“Lisandro Martinez has impressed me this season. At the beginning of the season, when he signed, everyone was talking about his height. He is a pit bull. He is angry.
“That is what United fans want to see. The South American players have that passion, they have the hunger to give everything, they play with their heart.”
