Edo election: “Uphold highest standards of integrity” – Group tells new Police commissioner

The Young Edo Professionals Group has welcomed the newly appointed Commissioner of Police, Nemi Edwin-Iwo, urging him to “uphold highest standards of integrity” in the discharge of his duties.

Rivers-born Edwin-Iwo resumed today as the CP of the state, few weeks before the governorship election

In a statement issued today by the group’s coordinator, Ojieh Ejehi, the group welcomed Edwin-Iwo, who replaces Funsho Adegboye as the 47th Commissioner of Police in the state.

As the state prepares for its governorship election, the Young Edo Professionals Group urged Edwin-Iwo to start his new role with a commitment to neutrality.

They stressed the importance of an unbiased approach to law enforcement, especially given the heightened political tensions leading up to the election.

Furthermore, the Young Edo Professionals Group cautioned against any potential bias or involvement with political parties.

They warned that any attempt to interfere with or undermine the democratic process could lead to unrest and violence.

They also urged Edwin-Iwo to ensure that his actions and decisions are fair and impartial to all parties involved.

“We trust that Commissioner Edwin-Iwo will uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.

“His role is pivotal in ensuring a peaceful and democratic election process. We look forward to his leadership and commitment to a just and secure electoral environment,” the group said.
