Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has told national team managers who want their World Cup players rested this weekend: “Don’t call me!”
Guardiola stated this ahead of the last round of Premier League games before the tournament kicks off in Qatar.
The Spaniard has made it clear he will not rotate his squad for Brentford, in other to help countries who will be playing in the tournament.
“Absolutely we aren’t going to rest players for the national teams.
“I didn’t get any [calls] and it’s not necessary to call me. I advise, don’t call me,” Guardiola told a news conference on Friday.
He added: “It’s the last game, most of the players right after the game leave for the national team. They are packing and it’s a dangerous thing.”
Guardiola has said he will not attend World Cup games in Qatar, but will instead travel back to Barcelona, before flying back to Manchester on December 5.
