The Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NiMet, on Wednesday, told Nigerians to disregard THE news making the rounds of a change in weather resulting from extreme air pollution.
Reports had earlier emerged online regarding a change in weather resulting from extreme air pollution, allegedly hazardous to human health.
But NiMet in a statement via its X account, countered the claims, urging Nigerians not to panic as the report is not genuine.
“This is to inform the Nigerian public that a news item making rounds of a change in weather resulting from extreme air pollution, which is hazardous to human health is NOT GENUINE, not issued from the Nigerian Meteorological Agency and should be disregarded.
“THERE IS NO NEED FOR PANIC,” the agency tweeted.
