A leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has said that billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote has defeated those he called “bandits” in Nigeria’s petroleum sector.
Igbokwe also said that people he described as bandits in the power generation, transmission, and distribution sector would be the next to be tackled.
Posting on X, he wrote: “Alhaji Aliko Dangote has defeated the bandits in the Petroleum industry hands down.
“The next to deal with new are the bandits in the power Generation, Transmission and Distribution sector that are dealing with us now.”
News reports stated that Dangote recently wrote to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
He accused the former Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Farouk Ahmed, of spending $5 million on his children’s school fees in Switzerland.
The ICPC confirmed on Tuesday that it has received the petition.
