Crown FC deny assaulting match officials

Crown FC have rebuffed claims of verbal assault on match officials after their Nigeria National League matchday six fixture against Solution FC.

The incident, which was reported to have taken place at the Awka City Stadium involved the Ogbomosho-based outfit’s General Manager, Olamide Ilupeju, and the said officials.

Ilupeju, however, claimed that no Crown official or himself verbally assaulted the match officials in any form.

The NNL disciplinary board has fined the club N1 million for the offence.

Ilupeju was warned against any form of dispute that might put the league to disrepute.

Crown FC have been ordered to pay up the fine before their next game on or before January 6th, 2024.
