An Oyo State High Court in Ibadan has granted bail application filed by Olori Naomi Silekunola, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat and Abdulahi Fasasi.
Hamzat is the founder of Agidigbo FM, while Fasasi is the principal of Islamic High School, Bashorun, Ibadan.
Justice K. B. Olawoyin, granted the bail applications filed by the trio in a ruling on Monday.
Recall that on Tuesday, 7 January, the court reserved its ruling on the bail applications.
They were arrested in connection with the tragic Christmas funfair that claimed the lives of 35 children in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
On December 24, 2024, Chief Magistrate Mrs Olabisi Ogunkanmi, presiding over Chief Magistrates’ Court 1, Iyaganku, Ibadan, ordered the trio to be remanded at Agodi Correctional Facility, pending an advice from the Department of Public Prosecution of the Oyo State Ministry of Justice.
Silekunola, Oriyomi and Fasasi are facing trial on a four-count charge which borders on conspiracy, acceleration of death, negligent acts causing harm and omitting to provide adequate security and medical facilities.
