In a shocking and rare development, the Emir and the Waziri disagreed publicly leading to tension in Wase emirate.
The Waziri is the second-in-command in the royal hierarchy.
Our correspondent gathered that there was a serious disagreement between the Emir and the Waziri over an issue of protocol which did not go well with the two.
In the bid to ensure matters do not get out of hand, the Emir was said to have upbraided the Waziri and the Waziri instead of taking it calmly also to walked back at the Emir which almost led to a physical exchange.
Our correspondent confirmed there has been a long-standing disagreement between the Emir and the Waziri as the latter is said to be older and expects to be accorded some respect though the emir holds a higher office.
There was tension when the Waziri was said to have replied the Emir as this is considered a disrespect in palace tradition.
When some policemen arrived the area shortly after the incident, the youths in the emirate started protesting saying the Waziri must not be arrested.
