The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) has refuted the purported sack of Post Master General, Ismail Adebayo Adewusi by President Muhammadu Buhari.
A statement on Tuesday by Director of Corporate Communications, Franklyn Alao described the claim as false.
NIPOST accused some people of being mischievous and spreading reckless news in an attempt to mislead Nigerians.
The government agency advised all stakeholders and the public to disregard the “malicious information”.
It said Adewusi remains in office, performing his official duties and working tirelessly to boost quality of service, in line with best global practices.
“lNIPOST has witnessed nobel ideas aimed at transforming its operations in line with the digital economy agenda of the Muhammadu Buhari administration,” it said.
The statement added that fake news was the handiwork of those who do not wish the organization well.
