A business-to-business fair at Ikeja Computer village, Lagos over the weekend was an introduction for startups that enter the market this year.
One of the startups that dominated the exhibition was OGB Copiers, a company that supplies printing and branding equipment.
At an interactive session, the CEO of the new startup, Ogbuonye Echezona Somtochukwu explained some of the success factors that propelled OGB Copiers to prominence in the printing sector.
“We make sure we have quality products always. That is one. Secondly, we always test-run samples in every way possible before bringing them out to our respective customers. That way, we don’t just acquire customers, we make sure we retain them,” he said.
Speaking on the unique marketing strategies adopted by the new company to break even in a year that has been unfavourable to businesses due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the OGB Copiers boss said: “We promote a lot on social media to reach those who can benefit from our service. More importantly, we offer after-sales service and follow-up with our clients, which helps us build trust.”
Speaking further, he said: “Our success has made most people love printing. Some graduates now consider printing a very lucrative business, and that is because we create easy how-to videos and a layout plan for printers on how to startup and grow.”
Participants at the fair, most of whom are involved in the sales and repair of printing equipment, agreed that since it entered into the printing industry, OGB Copiers have made a quick impact with its how-to videos on the branding process, its catalogue of branding machines and how they work which are made available on its social media pages.
OGB Copier’s CEO, Anambra-born Ogbuonye, in his closing remark, expressed optimism that the printing and branding industry will recover fast from the Covid disruption in the New Year.
“I also believed that OGB Copiers is already on a profitable path,” he said.
