Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill of N467 billion into law.
Recall, the budget was passed by the State House of Assembly after an upward adjustment of N2 billion from the initial N465 billion proposed by the governor on November 21, 2024.
The Speaker of the House, Suleiman Abubakar, presented the revised budget Tagged “Budget of Consolidation and Sustainable Development,” at the Banquet Hall of the Government House on Friday.
He noted that the adjustment was to ensure the budget met the needs of the people and addressed critical areas of development.
He said, “We gave our word to the governor and the good people of Bauchi State that we would pass the 2025 budget before the year runs out. The House, through its various committees, painstakingly reviewed the proposal to make sure allocations align with the demands of the state.”
Abubakar also presented another bill, the Bauchi State Water and Industrial System Law, aimed at improving access to clean water and empowering communities to participate in water resource management.
This law will not only promote transparency and accountability in the use of our water resources but also ensure sustainable development across our communities,” he added.
While assenting to the budget, Governor Mohammed commended the lawmakers for their dedication and patriotism.
He explained that the additional N2 billion would help improve service delivery to the people.
This 2025 budget is a blueprint that outlines our vision for the development of Bauchi State,” the governor said.
“Over the past five years, we have made steady progress in improving infrastructure and services that directly impact the lives of our people. This budget will help us build on that progress.”
Mohammed also reiterated his administration’s commitment to prioritizing education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure development, while creating an enabling environment for investors to thrive.
“As we implement this budget, I urge every member of our team to double their efforts. We will continue to monitor and review our progress to ensure we remain on track to achieve our goals,” he added.
