Atiku Abubakar’s son Adamu resigns from PDP

‎The first son of Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president of Nigeria has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).


‎Adamu, a former commissioner for works and energy development in Adamawa state, announced his resignation from the PDP in a letter addressed to the party chairman in Jada 1 ward.


‎In the letter dated March 4, Adamu said his resignation from the PDP takes effect immediately.


‎His words, “I hereby formally resign my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at Jada 1 Ward with immediate effect.


‎“I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to have served and the support extended to me by the ward leadership and members over the years,” the former commissioner said.


‎He also appealed to the ward chairman to accept his letter as a formal notification of his resignation.


‎In addition, the former commissioner urged the ward chairman to do well by communicating the content of his letter to the appropriate authorities within the PDP.


‎Recall that Adamu had earlier resigned his position as a commissioner in Adamawa State.


‎His defection also followed the resignation of his former principal and governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri from the PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).


‎Sources within the Adamawa State political ecosystem have also predicted that the former commissioner would likely join his father, Atiku in the African Democratic Party (ADC).
