The Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA) has assured of quality education at Eggon Community Secondary School, Nasarawa Eggon, Nasarawa State.
Mr David Abuluya, the President of the association gave the assurance on Tuesday when he paid an unscheduled visit at the site of the ongoing renovation of classrooms in the school.
Abulaya, who is the Proprietor, Nacabs Polytechnic, Akwanga, said that no society could achieve any meaningful development without sound education.
‘’We have declared free education from Junior Secondary School 1 to 3 to give every child access to education.
“Salaries of teachers and other staff are paid as at when due and students’ welfare is given topmost priority.
“We are embarking on the total renovation of the school, as we want to continue to provide quality education for our children,” the ECDA President, who is also the state Chairman, Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), said.
He thanked all Eggon sons and daughters, among other supporters, for contributing positively to the development of the school.
“I am here to see things for myself in order to ensure that quality work is done.
“As you can see, the masons and other labourers are doing quality work. The ceiling is in order in the classrooms. I am happy with the quality of work done so far,” he said.
Abuluya urged the masons and other workers to see that good job was delivered to ensure durability.
“I want to make Eggon Community Secondary School the best in the state and the country at large.
“I will continue to prioritise the welfare of teachers and students, as we will not compromise standard,” he said.
He urged the principal and other members of staff to continue to perform their duties without fear or favour towards improving the standard of education in the school.
The ECDA president also called for continous support from all Eggon sons and daughters for the overall development of the school.
“I still want to appeal to all Eggon sons and daughters to continue to contribute positively to the development of the school.
“As this is the only legacy we will leave for our children, considering the importance of education for human and societal development,” Abuluya said.
