APC accuses ex-minister Rotimi Amaechi of incitng anarchy

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the recent remarks of former Minister of Transport and ex-Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, as insensitive, provocative, and unpatriotic.

Amaechi stirred controversy with his recent comments criticizing Nigerian youth for not protesting the “high cost of living.”

In a statement, APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, accused Amaechi, of being a long-time beneficiary of state resources and contributing to the country’s economic challenges.

Morka condemned Amaechi’s alleged attempts to incite public unrest, calling him a “political freeloader” whose remarks are hypocritical, given his 24-year stint in power.

The statement further ridiculed Amaechi’s claim that those in power “steal money,” questioning how he could struggle to “buy diesel” after decades of benefiting from public office.

“The only real anger that Amaechi and his fellow tribesmen of naysayers of the likes of Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, must feel is that they are not in the saddle of government today.

“But that was a decision made by Nigeria’s ultimate political authority – the electorate,” the APC said.

The APC also emphasized that “Nigerians are aware of the temporary economic challenges brought on by the current administration’s necessary reforms and will not be swayed by Amaechi’s call for protests.”

Morka concluded by urging Nigerians to “reject Amaechi’s alleged call for anarchy and to remain patient and supportive of President Bola Tinubu’s transformative efforts to rebuild the economy for future generations.”
