The Leke Abejide Support Group (LASG) has commended the member representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide, for pledging ₦500 million for youth empowerment in Yagba land, describing the initiative as a boost to employment generation, self-reliance and socioeconomic development.

The group said the initiative would create opportunities for young people, promote economic independence and contribute to sustainable development across Yagba West, Yagba East and Mopamuro Local Government Areas of Kogi State.

In a statement issued by its Chairman, Media and Publicity, Bashorun MD Eseyin, on behalf of the Director-General, Dr. Yomi Charles, and the entire membership, LASG praised Abejide, its Grand Patron, for his continued generosity and commitment to improving the welfare of his constituents beyond political considerations.

The group noted that the pledge demonstrated the lawmaker’s recognition of youth empowerment as a critical pathway to economic independence, sustainable development and a brighter future for the people of Yagba.

Abejide announced the initiative during a welcome rally organised in his honour by the chairmen of Yagba West, Yagba East and Mopamuro local government areas.

The rally, held in Isanlu, attracted thousands of supporters, political leaders and prominent stakeholders across party lines to welcome the lawmaker, who holds the traditional title of Asiwaju of Yagba Land.

LASG commended its Grand Patron for demonstrating that genuine leadership transcends political affiliations and should be measured by tangible contributions to the lives and livelihoods of the people.

The group reaffirmed its commitment to promoting awareness of Abejide’s representation, achievements and initiatives, while encouraging unity, constructive engagement and development across the three local government areas.
