The House of Representatives Member, representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Hon Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem, has called on traditional rulers, women and youths from the area to work for the peace and unity of the Land.
The Reps Member who stated this on Tuesday while meeting with Royal fathers and women groups from across the Local Government, urged them to be security conscious and to always profile those who come to stay with them.
While noting that he will always continue to support traditional institutions in the area to do their job, he however cautioned that they must always be vigilant considering the volatile security situation in the country, saying that Kogi state is not an exception.
While enumerating his achievements in the last one an half years, he said there is a Primary Health center in Emiworo and in
Ganaja there is a hospital and doctor’s quarters to serve the health needs of the people in addition to various road projects which were undertaken by him in collaboration with the state government.
According to him, for the first time Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, approved a secondary school for Ganaja community, which has been lacking for decades.
The meeting primarily according to the House of Representatives member was to get back to his people and present his scorecards and also get feedback to further help and strengthen his legislative functions to his people.
He further commended the traditional rulers for their resilience in community development strategies and also helping the government in curbing the menace of criminal activities in their various domains.
The Reps Member encouraged them to ensure peace with the people at all times, stressing that their unity and cooperation in the policies and programmes of governor Usman Ododo’s consolidation agenda will further enhance development and growth across the LGA.
While addressing the various women groups, he thanked them for their support for him and the party, explaining that the women gender has been an incredible contributor to societal growth starting from the family level up to politics.
Hon Sanni maintained that more empowerment programmes are on the way for the women to help them expand their businesses and other endeavours of life ventures.
On the growing number of unemployed youths in the society, the House of Reps member noted that the issue of unemployment is a global phenomenon that has wrecked a lot of havoc to the development of the society.
He however made it known to the youths present at the meeting that there are huge plans coming from his office to the youths. According to SEA, “in only two years in office, i have been able to facilitate federal appointments for seven of our youths and more are still coming on the way so all we need is to be patient and be steadfast for there is joy ahead.”
In their various responses the Traditional Council and the women groups all attested to the fact that the Ajaokuta Reps Member has done very well so far to deserve praise from his constituents.
They cited his youths and women empowerment programmes, provision of boreholes, scholarship for the students, employment for the youths and his general community development programmes and policies.
In his address the Special Adviser to the Governor on community Integration and Harmonization, Hon. Haruna Ganaja commended the reps member for the meeting, saying it was timely.
He called on the people to be united and rally support for the House of Representatives member and the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo so as to continue to attract developments to the area.
While stressing that politics is a game of interest, Hon. Haruna emphasized that there is no permanent enemy or friend in politics, but permanent interest.
Aside the traditional rulers, other groups which visited includes;
SEA women in politics, in Ganaja and the Ajaokuta Steel Township Women Group led by Hajiya Bili .
They all offered prayers for the success of the House of representatives Member, Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem and the Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
