Justice Hafsatu Abdulrahman, the Acting Chief Judge of Adamawa on Saturday called for special prayers to enable judges to discharge their responsibilities in the administration of justice.
She made the call at a civic reception in honour of Justice Maxwell Pukuma at Mijili community in Hong Local Government Area of the state.
Pukuma was recently appointed High Court Jugde of Nigeria by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
Represented by Justice Kyanson, the Chief Judge appreciated members of the community for the gesture.
She said such prayers are key to success, hence the need for people to pray for judges to enable them to deliver successful judgments with all sincerity .
In his remarks, Nathan Musa, a former Chief Judge of the state, described the reception as excellent way to celebrate Pukuma’s successes.
“You are honoured by your community so you should not fail them because this is the first time they are having one of their sons as High Court Judge.
“You are expected to maintain a high standard so that the younger ones can aspire to that position,” he said.
Mr Dunama Azura, who was the Chairman of the occasion also congratulated Pukuma and urged members of the community not to put pressure on him, and distract his attention on his primary responsibilities.
Also, Alhaji Adamu Suleiman, the Acting District Head of Gaya community also congratulated Pukuma and advised him to follow the footsteps of the former chief judge for more successes.
Responding, Pukuma thanked the people and assured them to be good ambassador of the community.
