STATEMENT
Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has dissociated itself from a fake WhatsApp account set up in its name.
The attention of the Media Office of ACCI has been drawn to the existence of a WhatsApp platform bearing the name “Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry” with 78 participants already active on the platform.
The unscrupulous WhatsApp platform with admin phone number 0813 675 7483 was created by one Winifred Alpari who is neither a staff nor a member of ACCI.
“We wish to state categorically that the said WhatsApp platform bearing the Chamber name and an unidentified photograph is fake and targeted at misleading unsuspecting members of the Chamber and the public.”
Please note that the Chamber has its WhatsApp groups and other social media platforms and every registered member of the Chamber belongs to one group or the other as it relates to their membership.
ACCI Management urges members of the public to refrain from transacting with faceless individuals on WhatsApp and other social media platforms that are not directly connected with the Chamber.
Impostors and other criminal elements involved in this evil act of creating the fake WhatsApp accounts should desist from such or risk being apprehended by law enforcement agencies.
