Rotary club of Garki commissions newly built doctors’ quarters in Abuja Community

The Rotary club of Garki, Abuja on Monday, commissioned the newly built Doctors’ Quarters project at the Aleyita health center in Abuja.

The primary health center Aleyita built ten years ago by the club under Rotarian Sule Yusuf MD as president and donated to the government was set out to assist the Aleyita community to achieve universal health care.

The Club President, Joachim Ezeji, KSM during the commissioning, said the club’s effort to build the quarters is to mitigate the persisting challenges of constrained Universal Health Care caused by the absence of skilled health professionals.

Ezeji noted that the project was a major boost to the capacity of the primary health center in Aleyita to provide prompt and adequate medical care to patients and residents.

According to him, the importance of a conducive accommodation for the Doctors cannot be over-emphasized, given the nature of their work adding that with the completion accommodations, it would help enhance the working conditions of the Doctors and other health workers in the health center.

Earlier, the speaker, Dr. Frank Odafen, MD commended the Rotary Club of Garki for the rapid response to the health centers need in the area of accommodation for doctos; noting that the gesture would go a long way to ameliorate the accommodation needs of the primary health center.

On his part, the District Governor, Rotarian Ukachi Nwanoshiri MD said despite the economic situation in the country, the Rotary Club has stood by its promise of helping the less privileged in the society.

While commending the club, he told the community members present at the event that building the accommodation for health workers is to boost the workers’ productivity and to also ensure that the health center continue to exist.

He said the newly commissioned doctor’s quarters stands as a beacon of hope, a testament to the enduring spirit of service and the transformative impact of Rotary Club’s commitment to making a difference in the world, one community at a time.

“The doctors now had a place to call home, closer to their duty, ready to serve the people of Abuja with renewed dedication and vigor”.

Some of the community members joyously responded with remarkable generosity, understanding the profound impact this project would have on the quality of medical services available to them.
