Taraba Government Denies Plans To Demolish Palace, Central Mosque

The president of the association, Mr Emmanuel Ukwen, represented by Mr Markus Apwende, had alleged that a foreign contractor, accompanied by heavy security and armed militia, was spotted marking the palace and mosque for demolition.

However, the stateโ€™s Commissioner for Information, Zainab Usman Jalingo, dismissed the claims as baseless, stating that they were designed to incite fear and unrest within the community.

She emphasised the governmentโ€™s commitment to peace, unity and equal development for all citizens, regardless of religion or ethnicity.

โ€œThese unfounded rumours are the work of troublemakers and should be disregarded,โ€ the commissioner said, reaffirming the governmentโ€™s dedication to the welfare and justice of all residents in the state.
