Nigerian-American singer, David Adeleke, aka Davido, has revealed that carrying the blue passport has made travelling overseas easier for him.
He said when some of his band members are having difficulties with Visa approval, he always have an edge because of his American passport.
The Atlanta-born singer said the American passport was worth more than a million dollars.
He stated this in a recent interview with Omega.
Davido, however, expressed pride in his Nigerian nationality.
โThat part of my life [being born abroad] didnโt come out until I blew up. People thought I live in Nigeria. It was later on in my career that people realised that I did Alabama college and stuff like that.
โIt wasnโt like I was introduced as an American artist in Nigeria. Iโve been in the streets back home. The only thing is that I could fly anytime I wanted, like go to America anytime I wanted.
โTill date, I donโt care how much money youโve got, that blue passport is worth more than a million Dollars.
โFor example, we were going to Australia for a tour, to get the structure is so hard because some of my band members were having difficulties in getting the papers just because of their passports.
โBut obviously, itโs kind of easier for me because of the blue passport,โ he said.
