This is why igala politicians must learn from the past mistakes, while we are unable to divide Dekina into various local government was because of the way we play our local politics without understanding its later implications.
According to Engr Lawrence Akpa of Igala vanguard despite the note of warnings of not reducing Igala votes and population, Dekina local government Chairman, Prince Ishak Okolo and his Councillors are at the forefront and have engaged in selective distribution of PVC’s with the aide of his Councillors and compromised INEC personnel who have sold their future for peanuts.
Engr Lawrence Akpa while handing down the warning says that it is only in Dekina that shady and dirty deals is going on, while calling on Attah of Igala, His Majesty, Mathew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa 11 and Ogohi Anyigba, Abu Shaibu Okolo to call his brother to order, saying that it is a shame that people of royal family are engaged in this bad attitude .
The Igala Vanguard said they will submit their formal petition against the Councillors and the local government authorities any moment from now.
He warned that if the trend is not checked, the people of Kogi east and particularly in Dekina Local Government would have succeeded not only in frustrating the use of BVAS introduced by INEC, but defranchised the chunk of igala scattered across the area and Igala land.
He recalled a separate incidences in Iyale ward were an indigene Mathias Owete was stabbed on the head by agents of Dekina Local Government led by the councillor representing the area in the local government.
Several incidences occured across the 14 wards in Dekina Local Government, were people are either chased away from the collection centres or beaten up with INEC staff’s connivance.
He warned INEC, Dekina local government on its insistence on denying people from collection of their PVC’s to exercise their franchise in the next month general elections.
