Greed, Laziness, Ego Are Primary Causes Of Relationship Failure– Shoot Your Shot Singles Host Ojubabe

The host of the popular online show, Shoot Your Shot Singles (SYSS), Ojuolape Adeorike Ashimolowo, has offered an explanation of how she came about the IT consultant designation in her Instagram bio.

Ashimolowo, popularly known as Ojubabe, said: “Earlier in the year, I transitioned from the aviation field to the IT field, I started as a junior IT consultant, but now I work as a senior consultant for multiple consulting companies in the medical field providing technical solutions.”

She made the clarification during a question and answer session with her followers on Instagram live chat where many followers asked relationship-related questions.

On the problem of broken relationships among young people, she avowed that the reasons could be endless, but pinpointed “greed, laziness and ego” as primary causes.

On the issue of many Africans’ aversion to therapy despite the rising cases of mental health problems around the world, Ojubabe offered a viewpoint thus:
“I think the major cause of this is because the African culture has painted seeing a therapist as a sign of weakness and a waste of time, especially for men.”

She further told her followers: “Personally, I have gone through dire marital situations in the past that required me to see a therapist and, thank God, I did. I was broken, desolate, and depressed and knew this would eat me alive if I didn’t seek help. Today, the rest is history.”

Since she launched her online show in the heat of the pandemic and global lockdown, Ojubabe has acquired a public image as a self-made woman. This, she avowed, is not altogether correct.

“The perception to the outside world about me that I am a self-made woman who doesn’t need handouts is not correct,” she stated.
