The Federal High Court, Osogbo, has adjourned the suit filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to stop the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) from conducting local government elections slated for October 15.
The suit was adjoined till September 29 as another political party, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) joined in the suit.
Meanwhile, OSIEC has filed an appeal at the Court of Appeal, Akure, the Ondo State capital.
According to Barr. J.A Ayanyemi, counsel to OSIEC, the court in its wisdom has adjourned the matter till Thursday, September 29, noting that “OSIEC has filled an appeal at the Court of Appeal, Akure, as a matter of fact, the case has been given a number. All we are telling this honourable court is to stay of proceedings to allow the higher court to hear our case.”
