Uzodimma breaks silence on release of 20 kidnapped corps members

‎Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has hailed security agencies for their swift intervention that secured the release of 20 corps members kidnapped along the Onitsha-Owerri Road.

‎

‎In a statement he personally signed on Wednesday, the governor applauded the agencies for their collaboration and patriotism.

‎

‎He stated that their coordinated efforts ensured the safe release of the victims.

‎

‎Recall that the 20 prospective corps members and one other person abducted along the Onitsha-Owerri Road in Imo State regained their freedom on Wednesday.

‎

‎The governor similarly commended the Imo and Oyo State Governments for working together to secure the release of the corps members.

‎

‎According to him, given that the incident involved the safety of human lives, the authorities deliberately limited information in the public domain while efforts were underway to free the victims.

‎

‎The governor also praised the parents of the abducted corps members for their patience during the ordeal.

‎

‎He urged Nigerians to continue to have faith in the Federal Government as it works to address the country’s security challenges.
