Tinubu appoints son of former Plateau Gov as special assistant at presidency

‎President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of Yakubu Jang, son of former Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang, as Senior Special Assistant in the Office of the President.

‎This announcement was made known on Saturday by Vice President Kashim Shettima while delivering a goodwill message on behalf of President Tinubu at the 80th birthday of elder statesman and former Governor of Plateau State, Da Jonah David Jang, as well as the public presentation of his autobiography in Jos, Plateau State.


‎“On behalf of Mr President, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Yakubu Jang as Senior Special Assistant in the Office of the President,” Shettima said.


‎The appointment was announced at the high-profile event held in Jos, which was attended by Vice President Shettima, former President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON.


‎Those present also includes Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, the Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas, the Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Mrs Josephine Piyo and other senior federal and state government officials.


‎Accompanying the Vice President were the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, former Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, OFR and Senator Napoleon Bali.
