The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has launched the official website of the Constituency Scholarship and Talent Development Scheme (CSTDS), calling on lawmakers, governments, corporate organisations and development partners to collaborate in expanding scholarship opportunities for Nigerian students.
The Director of International Projects and Partnerships for UK, US and Europe, Comrade Abraham Temitayo Adewoye, unveiled the platform, https://cstdscheme.org, in London, describing it as a central information hub designed to improve access to scholarship opportunities, mentorship programmes and talent development initiatives.
According to Adewoye, the website provides comprehensive information on the scheme, including eligibility requirements, scholarship application procedures, mentorship opportunities and official programme updates.
He explained that the initiative aims to establish a sustainable scholarship and talent development platform capable of expanding educational opportunities for students across Nigeria’s constituencies through strategic partnerships with the National Assembly, state governments, corporate organisations, development agencies and philanthropic individuals.
He urged Nigerian students to regularly visit the website to stay informed about scholarship opportunities, application guidelines, programme requirements and future announcements.
“The CSTDS website has been created to provide every Nigerian student with access to accurate information about our scholarship pathways, mentorship programmes, leadership development opportunities and international academic partnerships.
“I encourage students across the country to visit our website, understand the qualification requirements and prepare themselves for future opportunities as the programme expands,” Adewoye said.
He disclosed that the long-term vision of the initiative is to provide educational opportunities for up to two million Nigerian students across constituencies nationwide through sustainable funding and strategic collaboration.
Adewoye also appealed to Senators, members of the House of Representatives, governors, policymakers, corporate organisations and international development partners to support the initiative by investing in education and youth development.
“No great nation can achieve sustainable development if its young people are not empowered. Nigeria’s future depends on the quality of education, skills and opportunities we provide for today’s students.
“Through CSTDS, we want to expand access to scholarships, strengthen mentorship and equip young Nigerians with practical knowledge in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership,” he said.
He noted that the scheme is designed to complement existing educational interventions by promoting transparent and accountable partnerships that support local and international academic opportunities, mentorship, digital skills training and talent development.
The NANS official maintained that investment in education remains one of the most effective strategies for reducing unemployment, strengthening communities and preparing Nigerian youths to compete in the global knowledge economy.
He called on stakeholders across the public and private sectors to support the programme, stressing that empowering students through education would contribute significantly to national development.
The Constituency Scholarship and Talent Development Scheme is a NANS-supported initiative coordinated by the Directorate of International Projects and Partnerships (UK, US & Europe).
The programme is aimed at expanding access to scholarships, mentorship, leadership development, skills acquisition and international academic opportunities through strategic partnerships.
