Jos attack: Perpetrators must be brought to book – Miyetti Allah

‎Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, has condemned the attack on residents of Jos, Plateau State, on Palm Sunday.

‎President of MACBAN, Baba Othman Ngelzarma, in an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday, called on security agencies to act decisively to identify and arrest those behind the attack.

‎He said that the action against the perpetrators must include not only those directly responsible but also individuals inciting violence through reckless and inflammatory statements.

‎According to him, such actors worsen tensions and must be held accountable, noting that without addressing both the violence and the rhetoric that fuels it, the cycle will continue.

‎Recall that scores were killed and injured after heavily armed gunmen laid siege on Angwan Rukuba community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State on Sunday.

‎Reacting, the MACBAN president said, “To start with, I have to condole with the families of the victims and the government of Plateau State over what happened on Sunday.

‎“That attack was so barbaric and condemnable by all ramifications. We condemn and do not support it.

‎“We call on the security agencies to act decisively and fish out the perpetrators of this act.”
