President Bola Tinubu on Thursday held a closed door meeting with the British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at 10 Downing Street in London as part of his official visit to the United Kingdom.
The two leaders did not address the press after the meeting.
But when asked of the outcome, Tinubu stated “very good”.
It is expected that the meeting will deepen relations between both Nigeria and the UK.
Tinubu’s visit will culminate in the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding and agreements covering trade, investment, defence, and cultural cooperation.
A statement by Tinubu’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga said a major highlight of the visit will be President Tinubu witnessing the signing of a landmark £746 million financing deal between the UK Export Finance, UKEF, the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, and the Federal Ministry of Finance Nigeria.
The agreement is aimed at supporting the refurbishment of key maritime infrastructure, including the Lagos Port Complex and the Tin Can Island Port Complex.
