2023: My Antecedent, Popular Support, Will Give Me Victory –PDP Candidate, for Ogori-Magongo state Constituency

An Aspirant for Kogi state House of Assembly Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), in Ogori-Magongo state Constituency has said that his love for the people and antecedent in community service has made him the most popular Candidate and a top contender for the job.

He also revealed that voters in his home state of Kogi are more interested in the calibre of the individuals aspiring for public office, than the platforms through which they are seeking it.

Bode Ogunmola who is also the immediate past state Publicity secretary of the PDP in Kogi State, made this known while speaking to newmen in his private residence in Lokoja, on Monday on his intention to represent his state constituency come 2023.

He said his contribution even in his private capacity to the development of his people in the communities has made him a top contender for the job.

He noted that the APC administration has not lived up to the expectations of the people, hence the dire need for a change of mantle.

“In my opinion my party, the PDP has done fairly enough both at the federal and state government level in the last 16 years, but if you look at the history of party politics in Kogi state, the people of my state are more interested in the personalities than the platform or political party.

“I have been on ground for the past ten years. I have been a community man, I was a Vice Chairman of my local government area, a Commissioner and Special Adviser in the state, I have done a lot of things in the State. They called me. They said young man because of what you have done for the community, we feel you should come and give us a good representation.

“The people of my constituency needs somebody who is sincere. Somebody who has done a lot even with the little he has got. Somebody who will come and give them hope. Our people are suffering from poverty, backwardness, underdevelopment and total negligence.

Speaking further on why someone like him is seeking such a position. He disclosed that the youths are the backbone of economic prosperity and political stability and he is contesting to serve the youth, he said.

“You see the youths have the intellect, they have the zeal but most of the youths don’t have the resources. But let me tell you if the youths can summon the courage and determination and run for political offices, then this country must change and one of the things that is driving me, is that courage and determination.

“As a young man, because I cannot fold my hands and be working and collecting salary and my Constituency is suffering, we need to involved them, because we have the ideas. This thing is the idea. We have the ideas to run certain things, it is just the courage that we need to be able to run this and achieve things for our people.
